Organized by KHIDI, the awards recognize organizations and individuals that have contributed to the open innovation ecosystem in the bio-health sector through global partnerships in areas such as technology cooperation, joint research, and technology commercialization.

The recognition reflects VORONOI’s track record in multiple forms of technology commercialization through global open innovation. The company has established a strong track record of five technology transfer deals with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including ORIC Pharmaceuticals, as well as technology asset sales to Anvia. In parallel, VORONOI has leveraged its proprietary AI drug discovery platform to expand joint research with companies and research institutions in Korea and overseas, strengthening its AI-based R&D capabilities in the discovery and development of drug candidates while also contributing to the competitiveness of Korea’s bio-industry in new drug development.

VORONOI is also advancing the global clinical development of its core pipeline assets. Its next-generation EGFR-targeted therapy, VRN11, is currently being evaluated in a global Phase 1b/2 clinical trial. The company has received Investigational New Drug (IND) approvals in Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore for trials that include treatment-naïve patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and is now moving forward with patient recruitment and other follow-up clinical procedures in each region.

VORONOI plans to enhance the global competitiveness of its drug discovery technology by expanding joint research and global partnerships built around its AI-driven drug discovery platform while continuing to advance the global clinical development of its pipeline assets.

Daekwon Kim, CEO of VORONOI, said, “This commendation recognizes VORONOI’s efforts to strengthen Korea’s bio R&D competitiveness not only through technology transfers to global companies, but also through AI-based joint research,” adding, “We will continue to develop innovative new drugs by expanding global partnerships and our in-house drug development programs while advancing the global commercialization of Korean biotechnology.”
