Accelerating access to single-molecule quantification

Countable PCR is a single-molecule quantification technology designed for research, translational science, and industrial testing. It extends the capabilities of digital PCR, but unlike conventional PCR approaches, doesn't rely on Poisson correction or standard curves, thus reducing ambiguity in quantification and improving sensitivity and precision at low target concentrations.

The Countable PCR platform accommodates broad dynamic range, multiplexing, and high throughput reactions in a single workflow. It also supports single-molecule linkage analysis, enabling the study of heredity patterns and identifying genomic regions associated with disease, alongside detection of rare events, fusions, and markers of genome integrity across varied sample types.

Bringing a new measurement technology into a research program takes time — time to evaluate, procure, train staff, and validate. The Countable CSP Program is designed to shorten this process, helping the scientific community accelerate their research and evaluate new technology in parallel. CSPs complete a robust training and validation program, enabling them to give customers expert guidance and end-to-end study support, including consultation on study design, appropriate use of the technology, and bioinformatics analysis. By working with a CSP, researchers can immediately generate high quality Countable PCR data on their own samples supported by trusted laboratories with deep expertise using the platform.

“We envision Countable PCR bridging the gap between digital PCR technologies and next-generation sequencing, for a fraction of the cost and far less complexity. Our CSP program is designed to help researchers utilize these capabilities to accelerate studies and power new breakthroughs,” said Anjali Pradhan, Chief Business Officer at Countable Labs. “By partnering with certified laboratories, scientists can leverage Countable PCR to supercharge their research using their own samples, delivering confidence in the biology-derived insights found in their data.”

Fred Hutch Cancer Center: service provider

Scientists at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, a preeminent leader in cancer care and infectious disease research based in Seattle, Wash., have completed the Countable CSP Program and are available to support research projects. The Genomics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource at Fred Hutch was an early adopter of the Countable PCR technology and has processed hundreds of samples across nine internal research groups for applications including library quantification, transcript quantification, and fusion detection. Their services include study consultation, full sample processing, training, and data analysis support, covering projects of any scale from initial feasibility experiments to large multi-cohort studies.

Alexander Zevin, Ph.D., Director, Genomics at Fred Hutch, presented his work with Countable PCR and other genomic technologies in a webinar hosted by Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News. The webinar, “Digital PCR Playbook: Applications and Challenges Across Research and Clinical Labs,” broadcast Thursday, June 18, 2026, and a recording is available here.

Joining the program

Countable Labs is actively recruiting additional core laboratories and contract research organizations with experience working with DNA and RNA inputs to join the CSP network. Certified partners receive formal training and validation, access to Countable Labs scientific and technical resources, and early access to new workflows and applications as the platform develops.
