Securian Canada Publishes 2025 Beyond Business Report

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Canada, a leading insurance provider of innovative, life-ready insurance solutions in Canada, published today the Beyond Business Report: Securian Canada’s Purpose in Practice, outlining the company’s progress in advancing inclusion, employee well-being and community engagement across Canada.

Building on the foundation introduced in the inaugural Beyond Business Report from 2024, this new installment highlights how Securian Canada’s inclusion strategy evolved in 2025, summarizing the initiatives that had a positive impact on the lives of employees, clients, partners and local communities.

“In 2025, we sharpened our focus to strengthen the meaningful relationships we’ve built with our teams, partners and communities over the years,” said Nigel Branker, Chief Executive Officer, Securian Canada. “Inclusion is not a trend for us – it is fundamental to how we work, how we lead and how we serve Canadians every day, going beyond shifting global sentiment around diversity, equity and inclusion. This report reflects the meaningful progress we’re making to create opportunity, strengthen belonging and build secure tomorrows for all Canadians.”

The report features details on Securian Canada’s inclusion pillars, centred around its people and culture, clients and partners, and communities. These include:

  • In 2025, Securian Canada marked the first full year of activity for its four employee-led Inclusion Networks and expanded its inclusion learning series to deepen understanding of unconscious bias, allyship and psychological safety.
  • The company continued its collaboration with leading sports partners to amplify its community impact. This includes a sponsorship of Canadian Football League’s Diversity in Football program (as the official life insurance partner of the CFL) and sponsoring Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment’s Home Ice Hockey program (as the official life insurance partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs).
  • The report also highlights the launch of Newcomers’ Realities: Securian Canada Insights, the company’s second research report focused on understanding the needs of traditionally underserved populations as they navigate financial protection in Canada.

“Our commitment goes beyond business results,” added Branker. “It’s about how we show up – for our employees, our partners and the communities we serve. We’re proud of the progress made in 2025 and energized for what’s ahead.”
