Paul M. Wilson, NetReputation CEO, and Michael Muldowney's City of Champions Nears Million-Dollar Milestone for Prostate Cancer Research
Taking place on May 11, 2026, the fourth annual golf tournament has recently surpassed $900,000, funds that will directly support groups like the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Mass General Brigham.
WELLESLEY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Paul M. Wilson and Michael Muldowney, co-hosts of the fourth annual City of Champions Golf Tournament, today announced that their annual event has surpassed $900,000 in cumulative fundraising for prostate cancer research, putting them firmly on the doorstep of the $1 million milestone. This year’s tournament will take place at Wellesley Country Club on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Supported by leaders in business and across the community, the tournament benefits organizations such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), with funds directed to researchers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Mass General Brigham, two of the country's most respected cancer research institutions.
"What began as a personal mission has grown into a community of champions," said Paul M. Wilson, a 30-year Wellesley resident and prostate cancer survivor. "Reaching $1 million would be a profound milestone, not just for us, but for every man and family touched by this disease."
Currently, prostate cancer affects one in eight men in the United States and remains one of the leading causes of cancer death among American men. The Prostate Cancer Foundation is the world's leading philanthropic organization funding and accelerating prostate cancer research, having raised more than $900 million and funded research at more than 220 leading cancer centers across 19 countries.
For Wilson, this is not an abstract statistic. It is something he has lived. His hope is that the funds raised through City of Champions will help ensure that future patients have access to better options and better outcomes than the generation before them.
Wilson, now CEO at the Sarasota, Florida-based NetReputation.com, was diagnosed with prostate cancer just over four years ago. Following a successful surgical procedure, Wilson made it his purpose to fund the research that could spare other men the same experience.
As Wilson's co-host and partner in the effort since the beginning, Michael Muldowney shared that enthusiasm, remarking on the value and support the Tournament has cultivated from the start:
"The generosity of our sponsors, players, and supporters has been extraordinary. Year after year, this community shows up, and because of them, critical research keeps moving forward."
Following the success of their 2025 event, Wilson and Muldowney anticipate another strong Tournament turnout, filled with a beautiful day on the links, friendly competition, and the unmatched hospitality of the Wellesley Country Club.
Spots for the 2026 tournament are limited and expected to go quickly. Players, dinner guests, sponsors, and donors are all welcome and encouraged to secure their place soon.
