TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OKI Electric Cable (President: Hideo Yamaguchi, Head office: Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture), the OKI Group’s electric cable business company, will launch a sliding, small-diameter K Type CoaXPress 2.0 Cable (CXP12 Series K Type) for industrial camera-equipped devices, including semiconductor manufacturing and inspection equipment in December 2025. The new product offers high durability—50 million sliding and bending cycles (Note 1)—with narrow 3.7 mm outer diameter. Compatible with wiring in moving parts and confined spaces inside industrial manufacturing and inspection equipment characterized by ever-growing structural complexity and operating speeds, the new product combines the 3.7 mm small-diameter design with high durability exceeding 50 million sliding and bending cycles. Mass production began at the Gunma Plant (Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture) in November 2025, with the sales target of 100 million yen for FY2026.

As various automated systems become faster, smaller, and more complex in structure, the cables used in moving parts and confined spaces of industrial camera-equipped devices must increasingly meet requirements such as high sliding and bending durability, space saving, and stable high-speed transmission. Especially in practical settings, factors including the need for high-definition image transmission and complex movements have led to conventional cables falling short in aspects such as maintenance workload and service life. This has led to growing demand for machine vision (Note 2) interface cables with smaller diameters and improved durability.
The new product is the latest addition to the CoaXPress 2.0 cable lineup. It achieves approximately five times the sliding and bending performance with almost half diameter compared to the existing product (RA Type), making it ideal for image inspection systems, semiconductor manufacturing and inspection equipment, and automated inspection lines for food and pharmaceutical products. It supports Micro BNC connectors (Note 3) and enables high-speed image transmission at rates up to 12.5 Gbps per lane (Note 4). With its small diameter and high sliding and bending durability, the product improves wiring reliability in moving parts and maintainability through extended replacement intervals.
OKI Electric Cable will proactively continue to develop and propose higher-durability, higher-performance interface cables compatible with rapidly evolving and diversifying industrial automated equipment.
[Terminology]
Note 1: Sliding and bending
Motion of sliding a cable with the cable bent into a U shape
Note 2: Machine vision
System used for PCB mounting equipment, product label printing equipment, and other equipment to perform appearance inspections or determine print defects using multiple cameras, light sources, imaging devices, and image processing devices.
Note 3: Micro BNC
Coaxial connector smaller than a standard BNC connector
Note 4: Lane
Single consolidated data transmission path. In the case of the CoaXPress standard, one lane is composed of a single coaxial cable (core).
