MERGE Appoints Stephanie Trunzo as CEO

Visionary Oracle Executive to Guide Company’s Emphasis on Meaningful Engagement at the Intersection of Consumerism and Health

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MERGE, a leading hybrid marketing and technology solutions firm, today announced the appointment of Stephanie Trunzo as its new Chief Executive Officer. Previously a Senior Vice President and General Manager at Oracle, and a recent addition to MERGE’s board in 2024, Trunzo is poised to drive the company's growth at the crucial nexus of consumerism and health and wellness.

With more than 20 years of leadership spanning technology, marketing, health, and storytelling, Stephanie's visionary approach is set to scale MERGE’s impact where consumer trends, innovative technology, and health audiences converge.

"I see the opportunity to integrate consumer trends, agency creativity, and intelligent technology as personally energizing and brimming with potential at a time when it’s most needed," Trunzo remarked. "We blend consumer insights with the precision and rigor required of regulated industries to forge meaningful connections and deliver personalized, understandable experiences. From aiding networks in integrating transformative therapeutics to enabling brands to empower new markets to make informed lifestyle choices, MERGE stands ready to be the translators, turning complex offerings into impactful, consumer-centric solutions."

Throughout her tenure at Oracle, Trunzo launched the Oracle Health global business unit and oversaw the strategic acquisition of Cerner, enhancing digital capabilities for healthcare systems. Her leadership extended across various sectors, including life science, retail, and financial services, as well as leading digital transformation for Oracle’s most strategic cloud customers. Before Oracle, her roles included executive positions at IBM, where she was integral in the development of the IBM Garage, a global network of collaboration hubs that fuse industry best practices with startup speed, and President and COO at PointSource, which she guided to significant growth and a successful public acquisition.

"A future where healthcare revolves around a transparent, secure ecosystem driven by data with the patient at its heart — that's where we're headed," said Jim Weiss, Real Chemistry founder and chairman and MERGE board member. "Bringing Stephanie on board is a deliberate move by MERGE to creatively and innovatively tackle the evolving needs of clients."

A staunch advocate for inclusivity in technology, Trunzo mentors emerging female leaders and supports diverse community and nonprofit organizations, including WomenNC and Transplants.org. She holds a degree in psychology, is a certified yoga instructor, and is recognized as a leading technology executive and member of the FCV Collective, committed to healthcare innovation.
