University of Phoenix Honored with Excellence in Marketing Award from UPCEA®

The University was selected for a bronze level award for demonstrating creative excellence in two television campaigns

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--University of Phoenix is pleased to be a recipient of the distinguished UPCEA® Excellence in Marketing Award recognizing the University's integrated television campaigns on competency-based master’s degree programs, “Masters on the Mind” and “Channel Surfing.” The awards are sponsored by UPCEA’s Marketing, Enrollment, and Student Success Network and were spotlighted at the 2024 UPCEA MEMS: Marketing, Enrollment Management and Student Success conference held December 3-5 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“The campaigns demonstrate our creative team’s talent and deep understanding and connection with the audience,” stated Chief Marketing Officer Steve Gross. “It is an honor to have the campaigns recognized and celebrate our team’s excellence.”

The UPCEA Excellence in Marketing Award recognizes marketing campaigns that excel in creativity, execution, and impact. Regardless of institution size or budget, the award focuses on outstanding and effective marketing in the higher ed industry based upon overall creativity, messaging, results achieved by the campaign, and level of design.

Award materials were showcased on a 2024 MEMS Award Recipient Page and the Conference Mobile App, where attendees and UPCEA members could view the materials submitted with the award nomination.

The campaigns “Masters on the Mind” and “Channel Surfing” conveyed messaging on the opportunity to save time and money with the University’s competency-based master’s degree program for less than $11,000 and in under a year.

“Our team wanted to explore creative that brings to light the fact that when something is on your mind you start to see nods or references to that thought all over the place,” shares Jeff Preston, vice president, Creative. “It was a fun and exciting concept for our team to develop, and it’s rewarding to see their deeply collaborative work recognized.”

Earlier this year, University of Phoenix marketing campaign excellence was also recognized with two awards from the Phoenix Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
