Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. Launches NephU, an Online Healthcare Community Dedicated to Kidney Health

PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. (OPDC) today announces the launch of NephU (www.nephu.org) (formerly PKDnetwork), a community and online resource library designed for healthcare professionals working in nephrology (study of the kidney) to help engage, collaborate, and share resources for people living with kidney disease.

NephU offers its members access to a growing on-demand library of educational materials, tools, including disease simulators, and resources curated for the healthcare community caring for patients with kidney disease. Through a variety of formats including video, audio, webinars, podcasts and social media, NephU members gain insights from nephrology thought leaders, a team of community advisors with expertise in kidney disease.

“We are excited to launch NephU as a value-added resource to the nephrology community. We plan to offer a wide range of information and resources in areas such as polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and other hereditary kidney diseases, general chronic kidney disease, anemia associated with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), renal replacement therapy options, and behavioral health for people living with kidney conditions,” said Reza Moghadam, PharmD, MBA, senior director, Field Medical Affairs, OPDC. “Our goal is to expand and excite the conversation regarding best practices for kidney care and health. In the future, we plan to offer a microsite where patients and caregivers can directly access content.”
