Thrive Earlier Detection Strengthens Team with Key Appointments and Promotion

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thrive Earlier Detection Corp., a company dedicated to extending and saving lives by incorporating earlier cancer detection into routine medical care, today announced three key executive appointments: Matt Franklin has been appointed chief commercial officer; Sarah Larson, partner and chief human resources officer at Third Rock Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors; and Semi Trotto has been promoted to chief people officer.

Matt Franklin brings to Thrive more than 20 years of business, commercial and strategic marketing experience in the diagnostics, life sciences and technology industries. Most recently, Mr. Franklin was the chief business officer at ArcherDx, a molecular diagnostics company, where he was responsible for commercial, market access and business development activities. Prior to Archer, he held senior leadership roles at both Foundation Medicine and Boston Scientific. At Thrive, Mr. Franklin will be responsible for setting and executing all aspects of the company’s commercial and business development strategy.

At Third Rock, Sarah Larson is responsible for human resources and also provides guidance and counsel to the firm’s portfolio companies as they are building their organizational capabilities, focusing on areas of human capital, leadership development and culture creation. She has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and leadership development, as well as the building of strong corporate cultures. As a member of Thrive’s board of directors, Ms. Larson will be an invaluable resource as the company scales.

Semi Trotto, a member of Thrive’s founding management team, has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. She most recently served as senior vice president and head of human resources at Thrive. Since joining the company, Ms. Trotto has worked to help shape and build the Thrive organization and develop an integrated culture across the company’s Cambridge and Baltimore locations. Before joining Thrive, Ms. Trotto held leadership positions in human resources at Editas Medicine, Baxalta and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
