Ergotron and Ingram Micro Partner to Donate Medical Carts to Aid in Coronavirus Outbreak

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ergotron, a global movement company that builds environments that help people thrive, has partnered with Ingram Micro China to donate medical carts to two hospitals in Wuhan, China, the city at the epicenter of the recent novel coronavirus outbreak. The carts were provided to Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospitals—emergency facilities built in just days to help contain the spread of the virus.

Twenty-four of Ergotron’s StyleView® mobile medical carts were transported from the company’s facility in Dongguan, southern China, to Wuhan—a 600-mile trip that took 16 hours by truck. At the hospitals, the carts will be used for telemedicine applications and to aid with processing electronic medical records. “The Wuhan medical teams are working around the clock to treat a huge influx of patients,” said Patrick Shao, chief executive officer at Ingram Micro China. “Ergotron’s StyleView carts can help them work more efficiently.”

The medical carts were jointly funded by the two companies, and they worked together on delivery logistics, setup and installation. “We’re so proud to work with our distribution partner, Ingram Micro China, to make this donation happen in a short timeframe,” stated Chad Severson, chief executive officer at Ergotron. “Without their help, this would not have been possible. They’ve been a truly outstanding partner in this unfortunate situation.”

Michael Kralj, Ergotron’s director, Asia Pacific, said: “Not only is the coronavirus outbreak a global health concern, but this emergency has serious implications for our colleagues. We have a team in China, and a number of our employees traveled home to the Hubei province for the Chinese New Year holiday. We want to do whatever we can to support our team, their families and the Wuhan community.”
