Which B2B Tech Brands are Dominating AI Search? Avenue Z’s AIVx Report Reveals Top Ranking Tech According to AI

The AI Visibility Index shows how B2B tech providers stack up in AI search - and reveals a near-term editorial media opportunity to shape AI answers and gain an edge in every category.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avenue Z, a digital marketing, PR and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO) agency that specializes in AI search visibility, today released a new AI Visibility Index (AIVx) Report with findings across five B2B technology categories: RegTech, InsurTech, MarTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech.

Across B2B Tech, AI visibility is concentrated among a small group of established platforms. Performance is strongest where AI systems can draw on established competitor, vendor/platform and institutional sources, with brand-owned content more visible in MarTech and editorial sources carrying more weight in LogisticsTech. Although many of these brands already have substantial news, PR and Social Media activity, that content is not consistently represented in the sources AI systems cite when comparing category leaders and challengers. The opportunity is not simply to increase coverage or posting volume, but to develop credible, category-specific, durable and expert-led third-party content that AI systems can retrieve and use as a reference.

B2B Tech: RegTech (Regulatory Technology)

In RegTech, ComplyAdvantage, NICE Actimize, and Alloy lead the category. Across this segment, competitor, vendor/platform, and institutional sources account for 75% of citations, while editorial and trade sources remain underrepresented, creating a targeted opportunity for credible news, thought leadership and industry coverage. B2B Tech: InsurTech (Insurance Technology)

In InsurTech, Guidewire, Socotra, and Lemonade lead, while specialized challenger brands like mShift, Shapsheet, and Insurity are gaining momentum quickly. Similar to RegTech, competitor, vendor/platform, and institutional sources account for the majority of citations. The source mix leaves room for editorial, review, trade and peer-led content to shape how brands are evaluated, while Social Media appears in retrievals but contributes little to cited answers. B2B Tech: MarTech (Marketing Technology)

In MarTech, enterprise, multi-function brands - Salesforce, HubSpot, and Adobe - dominate AI Share of Voice (AI SOV), creating a competitive industry where challenger brands need clear answers to complex platform decisions. Unlike other B2B tech categories, competitor-source citations far outweigh all other sources - including review platforms and brand content - leaving editorial PR and useful decision-support content as the strongest AI optimization opportunity. B2B Tech: HealthTech (Health & Healthcare Technology)

In HealthTech, Epic, Oracle Health, and AthenaHealth lead the rankings. Across this segment, competitor, vendor/platform, and institutional sources again account for a majority of citations (75%), presenting a strong opportunity to invest in editorial coverage to build evidence-led authority. B2B Tech: LogisticsTech (Logistics, Transportation & Supply Chain Technology)

In LogisticsTech, SAP, Oracle, and Blue Yonder lead the rankings - with challengers like e2open, Onfleet, and Samsara gaining momentum. Similar to other categories, citation source mix points to a clear opportunity to invest in tiered editorial coverage, social media and peer discussion to improve rank. The opportunity for this industry is to better understand and influence the mix of signals AI systems use. Competitor and institutional sources currently carry significant weight in the category, while editorial and trade sources appear to play a more limited role in shaping answers. For brands, the focus is not simply on generating more coverage, but on ensuring that credible expertise, product context, and third-party validation are represented in the sources AI systems draw from.

“B2B buying has shifted to a self-directed, AI-mediated journey, where the first ‘conversation’ is often with an algorithm, not a salesperson,” said Whitney Hart, Chief Strategy Officer and Director of the AI Lab at Avenue Z. “According to Gartner, Nearly half of buyers already use AI in their decision process, so if your brand isn’t accurately represented in those answers, you’re either invisible or disadvantaged before your team ever enters the sales cycle - which makes AI visibility a non-negotiable priority for B2B tech brands.
