HarbourVest Partners Appoints Industry Veteran Brian Taranto as COO, Global Private Wealth

Experienced operations and distribution executive joins HarbourVest to help scale the firm's Global Private Wealth platform

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HarbourVest Partners ("HarbourVest"), a global private markets asset manager, today announced that Brian Taranto has joined the firm as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Global Private Wealth, a newly created role that underscores HarbourVest's continued investment in scaling its global wealth platform.

As private markets become an increasingly important component of wealth portfolios, HarbourVest continues to invest in the leadership, technology, and operating infrastructure to serve wealth intermediaries and investors globally.

Based in Boston, Taranto will partner closely with Venu Krishnamurthy, Head of Global Private Wealth, to drive the growth of HarbourVest's wealth business. As a member of the Global Private Wealth leadership team, he will oversee key initiatives across client operations, technology, finance, strategic projects, and risk management.

"Serving the wealth market is one of HarbourVest's most important long-term growth priorities, and Brian's appointment reflects our commitment to building a platform that can serve investors at scale for decades to come," said Krishnamurthy. "Brian brings a rare combination of distribution, operating, and transformation leadership experience. He has helped build and scale businesses through periods of significant growth and change, and his expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand globally."

Taranto joins HarbourVest from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he served as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for the U.S. Intermediary Distribution business. In that role, he led strategic initiatives across technology, operations, finance, data, and project management, and played a key role in the integration of Eaton Vance into Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Taranto spent more than two decades at Eaton Vance in senior leadership positions spanning distribution, operations, and business transformation.

"As demand for private market access continues to accelerate, firms with operating platforms that can deliver scale, consistency, and exceptional client service will set themselves apart," said Taranto. "HarbourVest has built a differentiated global platform and is well positioned for our next phase of growth. I'm excited to help strengthen the capabilities that will support that journey."
