HarbourVest Partners Appoints Kaitlin May as Head of Product Management

Newly created role strengthens HarbourVest’s product platform as investors seek diversified exposure to private markets

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HarbourVest Partners (“HarbourVest”), a global private markets asset manager, today announced that Kaitlin May has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of Product Management, a new role focused on strengthening the way closed-end commingled products are managed, supported, and scaled.

In this role, May will oversee the stewardship of HarbourVest’s closed-end commingled product platform, ensuring the firm’s investment offerings are effectively supported and optimized throughout their lifecycle. She will join as a senior executive in HarbourVest’s product and solutions organization, which identifies market opportunities and designs products to meet client needs.

This appointment marks an important step as HarbourVest aims to meet the growing demand for private market products with diverse exposure to the full breadth and depth of offerings.

"As private markets become a core holding for more investors, we are focused on delivering investment excellence, disciplined execution, and speed to market,” said Alex Rogers, Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer. “Similar to how stock investors diversify across large, mid, small, growth and value, private markets investors are increasingly seeking diversified portfolios that optimize their risk-return profiles. Kaitlin will focus on ensuring investors have a full set of private markets products to complete their overall portfolio construction needs.”

May brings more than 25 years of experience in private market strategy, product development, and operations. She joins HarbourVest from SKKY Partners, where she served as Chief Operating Officer. Previously, she was Head of Global Institutional Management and the Chief Operating Officer of the alternative investments business at Putnam Investments. Prior, she spent nearly a decade in various roles within Apollo Global Management’s Client and Product Solutions Group, including Chief Operating Officer. She has also held leadership roles within the alternative investments division at Citigroup.

"I believe HarbourVest is well positioned for the next chapter of private markets growth,” said May. “Their expertise, collaborative culture, and reputation for providing investors with a seamless and client-focused experience distinctly position the firm to lead the way in private market integration, and I look forward to delivering scalable solutions that will drive our future growth.”
