Smead Capital Management (Canada) Ltd. Achieves Registration with the Ontario Securities Commission

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smead Capital Management, a Phoenix-based investment management firm and a leader in value investing, today announced that its Canadian subsidiary, Smead Capital Management (Canada) Ltd. (“Smead Canada”), has received registration approval from the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), effective July 2, 2026. The approval opens the door to the firm's first formal expansion into Canada.

Smead Canada is registered as:

• Portfolio Manager (PM) in Ontario and Alberta
• Investment Fund Manager (IFM) in Ontario, Newfoundland & Labrador and Québec

This milestone allows Smead Canada to begin operating in the categories and jurisdictions for which it has been approved, marking an important step in the firm's expansion into the Canadian market.
