Soracom Names Richard Halliday Chief Executive Officer, Americas

A channel-growth and go-to-market veteran, Halliday has grown Soracom’s Americas business from partnerships to full regional operations

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Soracom, Inc. (TSE: 147A), a cloud-native IoT platform providing connectivity, cloud integration, and AI services for the Internet of Things, today named Richard Halliday Chief Executive Officer, Americas. Halliday assumes the role effective June 1, 2026.

As Chief Executive Officer, Americas, Halliday leads Soracom’s business across the region, including its sales, partnerships, and technical services teams. He directs the company’s go-to-market strategy in the Americas.

“Soracom’s Americas business has grown quickly, with thriving customer deployments and recognition as a leading partner across the region. Richard has led sales and partnerships through that growth, and I am confident that as Chief Executive Officer, Americas, he will keep current and future customers succeeding,” said Kenta Yasukawa, Co-Founder and CTO of Soracom.

Halliday brings more than 30 years of experience building and scaling technology businesses across industrial manufacturing, global distribution, and IoT connectivity. At Illinois Tool Works he held full profit-and-loss responsibility for multiple business units. He later shaped product strategy for a global distribution business with more than $1 billion in revenue at Premier Farnell. At Digi International, as Vice President of Channel Sales and Alliances, he rebuilt the company’s go-to-market model into a partner-led growth engine. Halliday joined Soracom in 2022 to lead partnerships in the Americas, later taking responsibility for all Americas sales and technical services and driving rapid growth in the region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Colgate University.

“Soracom’s growth in the Americas depends entirely on the success of our customers and partners. Our team is committed to delivering the value and capability that let customers bring new connected businesses to life, and to building the partner ecosystem that accelerates those customers as they grow. My priority now is to expand that ecosystem and deepen what we offer, so customers across the region can move from prototype to production on a single platform that supports them at every stage,” said Richard Halliday, Soracom’s Chief Executive Officer, Americas.
