Church Mutual Donates $45,000 to 14 Nonprofits Through CM CARES® Employee-led Giving Program

Employees came together to nominate and vote on more than 140 nonprofits nationwide

MERRILL, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CM CARES® — the Church Mutual Insurance Company Foundation — is donating $45,000 to 14 nonprofit organizations across the United States through an employee-led nomination and voting program.

The funding was awarded as part of CM CARES’ employee giving initiative, which allows Church Mutual employees to nominate nonprofits and vote for the causes they care about — with organizations receiving a share of $45,000.

In its first year, more than 140 nonprofits were nominated and voted on in communities where Church Mutual employees live and work. Fourteen organizations ultimately received a donation from CM CARES, including:

“Our employees lead with their hearts, and they want to feel personally connected to the impact we make in communities,” said Alan Ogilvie, Church Mutual President and CEO. “This employee-led giving gave our people a real voice in the causes CM CARES supports — many of which reflect the same types of service-driven organizations we work with and help protect every day. It’s a direct way to live out our commitment to serving others.”

The 14 nonprofits represent a wide range of causes, including youth and family services, food aid, health and wellness programs, and community enrichment. Each organization was nominated by employees who shared how the nonprofit’s mission and work strengthen their communities.

Employee-directed giving is a key component of CM CARES’ broader philanthropic efforts, which focus on causes that advance and elevate others. To date, over 1,400 organizations have received support from CM CARES.
