SoundHealth Launches Spatial Sleep: The World’s First Clinically Proven, Personalized, Drug-Free Wearable for Better Sleep

Proprietary acoustic sleep harmonization technology delivers tailored sound and vibration patterns based on each user’s unique craniofacial anatomy.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoundHealth, a medical technology company using AI and medical science to improve patient outcomes, today announced the launch of Spatial Sleep, a personalized acoustic sleep headband to help people fall asleep faster, sleep longer and wake up refreshed.

Spatial Sleep leverages slow, rhythmic sounds and gentle vibrations that naturally resonate with brainwave activity, calming the mind and promoting rest.

Spatial Sleep is based on proprietary Acoustic Sleep Harmonization™ technology. This technology uses a smartphone selfie facial scan to generate unique personalized harmonies and gentle vibrations that are tailored to the user’s cranio-facial anatomy. These harmonies naturally promote deep, restorative sleep.

Spatial Sleep is a breakthrough, drug-free, non-invasive wellness device for people who struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or get back to sleep after nighttime awakenings. Machine learning (ML) models map key anatomical landmarks from the user’s face to generate a personalized acoustic profile. This profile shapes the harmonies and vibrations delivered through the dual bone conduction transducers in the headband, creating a rich set of low frequency overtones and harmonics that are customized to each user’s head shape. These soothing sounds harmonize brainwaves to help the user fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply and wake up feeling refreshed.

Developed in collaboration with leading experts in Sleep Medicine at Stanford University, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Endeavor Health, Weill Cornell Medicine and Sharp Rees-Stealy, Spatial Sleep’s unique design and technology are grounded in rigorous clinical research. Peer-reviewed and published clinical data showed that 90% of Spatial users experienced significant improvement in sleep quality after using Spatial, with an average improvement of 50% in ISI (Insomnia Severity Index) scores.

“This is an exciting step forward in non-pharmacological approaches to improving sleep,” said Dr. Elan Hekier, M.D., Pulmonology, Sharp Rees-Stealy San Diego.

“The approach is unique in that it offers a customized solution for each individual, making the therapy more targeted and potentially more effective,” said Dr. Robson Capasso, Professor of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (OHNS) and (by courtesy) Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine, Stanford University.

The Spatial Sleep headband is worn at bedtime. It delivers a personalized harmony session for 45 minutes before automatically shutting off. The headband is designed for maximum comfort and employs precision bone conduction, so users feel the calming resonance.

The Spatial Sleep app is designed to support both nighttime rest and daytime performance. It is the first-ever app to offer clinically-validated cognitive and behavioral gameplay to help with daytime performance. The app also breaks new ground by offering somato-energetic neuromodulation exercises, integrating time-honored practices like breathwork and posture with modern neuroscience to promote relaxation and body awareness.

“Most sleep products either sedate you or drown you in noise, and have lasting side effects,” said Dr. Paramesh Gopi, CEO of Sound Health Systems, Inc. “Spatial uses the world’s largest living craniofacial dataset to create a zero-side-effect acoustic wearable tuned to your facial structure. We’re working with your neurobiology to help you fall asleep naturally and wake up refreshed.”

The Spatial Sleep headband is FSA/HSA-eligible and retails for $319. The companion app is available on the Apple App Store® for iOS devices and on Google Play™ for Android devices.
