University of Phoenix Celebrates Student Achievement with 2025 President’s and Dean’s Lists

Students honored for academic excellence can now easily share their achievement and stories through a new social media feature

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--University of Phoenix celebrates the accomplishments of students named to its semi-annual President’s and Dean’s Lists, recognizing the success and progress of students who are achieving academic excellence in their programs of study. This year, the University introduced a new way for students to celebrate their academic accomplishments: a redesigned recognition email that includes a click-to-share feature, allowing students to post their achievement directly to social media with a beautifully crafted image.

“Our students are busy working adults who are often balancing family and a job while pursuing their educational goals,” said University of Phoenix President Chris Lynne. “Recognizing their hard work and accomplishments is an important part of the journey, and we’re proud to see so many of our students share their success with their networks and by doing so, encouraging others to pursue their own goals.”

The new click-to-share feature is designed to make celebrating academic success more engaging, helping students share their pride with friends, family, and professional networks. It reflects the University’s commitment to supporting its students not only in their academic journey, but also in how they connect in an online environment, lead, and make an impact within their communities.

Building on this momentum, a celebratory giveaway campaign for Dean’s and President’s List honorees is running throughout the month of August. Select students who share their story on social networks will be entered for a chance to win an exclusive box of brand-new University of Phoenix swag, making them the very first to receive it. Top submissions will be featured in the student blog and highlighted in a social media post. The campaign has already received nearly 200 entries in less than a week, reflecting the enthusiasm and pride of the University’s student community.

Sylvia Begay-Pullum was named to the President’s List while working full time and pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Management from University of Phoenix. At 57 years old, she was proud to share her accomplishment online and says she stands as living proof that life’s hardest trials can become powerful testimonies. “I am a mother of four adult children, a wife to my best friend and pastor of nearly ten years, a seasoned collegiate, and an overcomer,” she says. “My life has been marked by domestic violence, toxic relationships, and the heartbreaking back-to-back loss of my mother and youngest son. These experiences forged in me an unshakable faith, resilience, and a passion to help others rise from their own valleys.”

The President's List identifies students who have achieved a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), whereas the Dean's List requires a 3.5 or higher GPA for undergraduate degree program students, and a 3.7 or higher GPA for master’s degree program students. Dean’s List recognition is awarded to bachelor’s and master’s degree students from the College of Business and Information Technology; College of Education; College of General Studies; College of Health Professions; College of Nursing; and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Also celebrating a well-earned academic milestone is William Dennis, who was named to the Dean’s List in his Master of Information Systems program. “Making the Dean’s List in my Master’s in Information Systems program at University of Phoenix is a milestone I am incredibly proud of,” Dennis shares. “Balancing full-time work, graduate studies, and life’s daily demands has not been easy, but I have not done it alone. My wife has been my unwavering support through every late night and deadline. Our dogs, George and Jack, have been loyal study companions. George stayed steady by my side, and Jack always reminded me to keep things light. Growth often comes quietly, through persistence and showing up day after day.”
