NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Parade, the premium legacy entertainment and lifestyle brand, named actor, philanthropist and reality TV star Garcelle Beauvais its first honoree in its new Changemakers 2025 franchise.

Changemakers 2025 spotlights celebrities, advocates and influencers who actively work to bring solutions to some of the most pressing issues of today. The Parade Editorial Board will reveal additional honorees through the end of the year.

Parade has a legacy of shining a light on the heroes and helpers in our society,” says Chief Content Officer Lisa Delaney. “It’s more important than ever for us to elevate the doers in the world to inspire all of us to take action to address our biggest challenges.”

The Parade team chose Beauvais because of her hands-on involvement in humanitarian efforts including those in Haiti, where she was born and raised until emigrating to the U.S. at age 7. In 2023, she partnered with The Kellogg Foundation on Pockets of Hope, a campaign to help provide economic opportunities and expand access to healthcare in her home country. “Living in Haiti really shaped me into who I am because we really didn't have a lot," she tells Parade. "My roots grounded me into who I've become in terms of wanting to give back [and] in terms of being so grateful to be where I am. I think if everybody does just a little bit, it will change the world."

The mother of two also supports organizations such as CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), with whom she worked on the ground to support Los Angeles-area communities after devastating wildfires broke out in early January 2025. Professionally, Beauvais used her platform to bring into the forefront disparities in the way law enforcement and the media treat the cases of missing Black and Brown women as executive producer and star of Lifetime’s award-winning film Black Girl Missing.

Beauvais, 58, currently a regular on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has a long history in Hollywood, appearing in The Jamie Foxx Show and the crime drama series NYPD Blue in the ‘90s and the films Coming to America (1988) and Coming 2 America (2021). She also co-hosted the daytime talk show The Real in 2020-2022.

"I think it's our responsibility as human beings to step up when needed,” Beauvais says. “And I think that's what a Changemaker does."
