Hunt Military Communities Celebrates $18.5 Million Renovation Project at Kirtland AFB’s Pershing Park Neighborhood

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hunt Military Communities (HMC), the largest provider of privatized military housing in the United States, recently celebrated the Pershing Park Whole Home Renovation Project at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), with an official ribbon cutting event. With an investment of $18.5 million, this project brings transformative upgrades to 211 homes in the Pershing Park neighborhood, enhancing the living experience for military families stationed at Kirtland AFB.

Construction began in October 2024 and is scheduled for completion in 2026. The community has already caught a glimpse of the project’s progress during a recent “Hard Hat Tour” that gave residents a firsthand look at the ongoing renovations and offered an opportunity for residents to share their feedback.

“This renovation project is a testament to our commitment to reinvesting in our community and supporting the families who serve our nation,” said Col. Jason Okumura, 377th Mission Support Group commander, during his remarks at the ceremony. “By bringing these homes in line with the rest of the base housing, we are ensuring that our residents have modern, comfortable, and energy-efficient living spaces that reflect the gratitude we have for their service.”

The renovations include comprehensive interior and exterior upgrades to modernize and enhance the homes, including:

  • Installation of new flooring throughout.
  • Updated kitchen and bathroom cabinets with granite countertops.
  • Modern plumbing fixtures and LED lighting for energy efficiency.
  • Fresh interior and exterior painting.
  • Refreshed xeriscaping to improve curb appeal.

“Hunt Military Communities is committed to delivering quality housing and exceptional service for those who serve our nation,” said Brian Stann, President and CEO of Hunt Military Communities. “The Pershing Park renovations reflect our ongoing dedication to creating modern, comfortable, and sustainable homes that meet the needs of today’s military families.”

This renovation project is a vital step in HMC’s mission to enhance the quality of life for military families. By investing in modern amenities and sustainable practices, HMC ensures that service members and their loved ones have a place they are proud to call home.
