University of Phoenix hosts April Educational Equity Webinar, “Transforming Workplace Culture through Inclusive Hiring Practices”

Event will focus on innovative talent acquisition strategies that prioritize inclusivity and accessibility

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--University of Phoenix is pleased to announce it will be holding the newest webinar in its Educational Equity Webinar Series, titled “Transforming Workplace Culture through Inclusive Hiring Practices” on April 18, 2024, at noon MDT. The event is part of a public series intended for educators, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) practitioners, higher education leaders and administrators, employers, nonprofit organizations, government affiliates, and University of Phoenix faculty, staff, students, and alumni across the globe.

“We are excited to explore the transformative impact of inclusive hiring practices on organizational culture and a sense of employee belonging,” shares Saray Lopez, MBA, director of Student Diversity & Inclusion at University of Phoenix, and a host of the series. “In today's dynamic labor market, attracting and retaining talent requires employers to actively embrace practical strategies for dismantling biases and championing diversity.”

During the session, panelists will delve into inclusive hiring and talent acquisition practices that can help address the need for skilled individuals in today's competitive labor market. Speakers will explore innovative practices aimed at breaking down biases and fostering diversity in recruitment processes. Topics will include practical methods for creating inclusive job postings, designing unbiased interview processes, and implementing accessible recruitment practices. From leveraging technology to fostering a culture of inclusion, the session will highlight actionable strategies to attract and retain top talent from diverse backgrounds.

The discussion will be hosted by Tondra Richardson, MBA, director of Student Diversity & Inclusion and Saray Lopez, MBA, director, Student Diversity & Inclusion, both with the Office of Educational Equity (OEE) at University of Phoenix. The Educational Equity Webinar Series is part of a series of events with which the OEE engages aiming to foster cultural awareness, thought leadership and community alliances to promote and sustain educational equity and diversity initiatives. The OEE supports students and faculty year-round with programs like the Inclusive Leadership Summit and an internal offering for staff and faculty, The Inclusive Café.
