National Proton Conference to Feature Cancer Treatment Innovators, Researchers, Physicians and Leaders from Major U.S. Medical Centers

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT), the nation’s leading organization dedicated to increasing patient access to advanced cancer treatments, today announced it will convene the 2023 National Proton Conference in Salt Lake City on May 6-9 featuring leaders in the field of particle therapy with an agenda focused on emerging clinical research, operational efficiencies, barriers to patient access such as the insurance prior authorization processes and other issues critical to expanding the use of this life-saving cancer treatment nationwide.

During the industry’s premiere event for current and developing proton centers, NAPT will also release “The State of Proton Therapy,” a report based on the results of its latest member survey. The only survey worldwide that tracks proton therapy trends, the report will include new data on the frequency and prevalence of proton therapy, conditions treated, impact of insurance appeals and denials on patients, and growth among proton therapy locations and types of facilities.

“We are excited to present new and compelling information at our National Proton Conference and create opportunities for our members and those interested in bringing proton therapy to their healthcare center to engage with an esteemed group of practitioners, leaders and experts,” said NAPT Executive Director Jennifer Maggiore. “This is a tremendous opportunity to understand the value and benefit of proton therapy and discover the potential of proton therapy to become even more effective, affordable and accessible as research and innovation advance across multiple fronts.”

The three-day event at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City will feature speakers from more than 40 cancer centers. Presentations and panel discussions will cover topics such as FLASH therapy, policy initiatives, patient engagement, advancements in oncology, the future of cancer care, and Industry Expert Theaters presented by Mevion, IBA, and Apollo Healthcare Partners. An exhibition hall will feature industry partners and technology providers.
