AirStrip® Releases FDA-Cleared Alarm Communication Solution and Appoints Eric Brill as Sr. Vice President of Clinical Alarm Communications and Care Coordination

SAN ANTONIO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AirStrip®, a leading enterprise-grade platform for comprehensive medical data interoperability, analytics and mobile visualization, is pleased to announce that Eric Brill has joined AirStrip as Sr. Vice President, Advanced Clinical Alarm Communications and Care Coordination. Brill will be focused on bringing to market a transformational new alarm communication platform which builds on the core AirStrip ONE® solution bundle to enable healthcare providers to focus on patient safety, reduce alarm fatigue and notify mobile clinicians when critical, actionable alarm conditions occur for their patients and require attention.

“I have dedicated my entire career to patient safety and this move represents the last mile in a quest to solve several key industry workflow problems around patient monitoring, telemetry, alarm notification and staff assignments. I am so excited to be joining the healthcare vision of Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and Alan Portela” says Eric Brill. “Patients are mobile and critical alarms can happen during any point of the patient journey. The days of clinicians waiting to react based on a flood of non-actionable tethered system alarms are coming to an end. Clinicians need access to more proactive, actionable information and patients deserve attention and care when those alarm situations arise. And mobility is the key component.”

“Eric’s passion as an industry pioneer in healthcare communications and alarm management middleware is perfectly matched to AirStrip’s current platform and virtual surveillance solutions and aligned with our customer’s needs and vision,” says Alan Portela, CEO of AirStrip Technologies. “Eric’s decision to come to AirStrip and run our Clinical Alarm Communications and Care Coordination Division exponentially increases our ability to attract thought leaders and strategic partners who truly understand the challenges faced by our customers and we look forward to leverage our fast-paced, entrepreneurial software company to release the next level of our alarm communication solutions to transform the healthcare market.”

Brill brings 25 years of experience within clinical communications and alarm management middleware and held past executive leadership roles that helped drive solutions for most legacy vendors in the space that are now challenged with competing priorities resulting from recent M&A activities.
