Cardea Bio Appoints Genomics Industry Veteran Dawn Barry to Its Board of Directors

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cardea Bio, a Tech+Bio company that has integrated molecular biology with semiconductor electronics, today announced that Dawn Barry has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Dawn Barry is the President & co-founder of LunaPBC, Inc., which was named by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer in 2019.

She then spent 12 years helping build Illumina, where she ultimately served as the Vice President of Applied Genomics and led pioneering teams in precision medicine, translational genomics, population genomics, and clinical screening applications, among others. Barry was a 2016 TEDx San Diego speaker, San Diego Business Journal’s Business Woman of the Year in 2017 and a Girl Scouts San Diego Cool Women recipient in 2019, and she serves on the Board of the Alzheimer’s Association San Diego/Imperial County Chapter.
