Carol Meyers Joins Zipwhip Board of Directors, Adds Expertise in Guiding High-Growth Startups

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zipwhip, the inventors of Texting for Business, today announced that Carol Meyers is joining its board of directors. Meyers brings over 30 years of experience in high-growth companies to the board, and over her career has focused on developing strategic go-to-market plans that deliver double- and triple-digit revenue growth. Her expertise has helped position dozens of companies for successful IPOs and acquisitions.

Meyers is the former chief marketing officer of Rapid7 (NASDAQ: RPD), the leader in cybersecurity analytics and automation, where she helped lead the company to ten-fold revenue growth in eight years. Previously, Meyers served as CMO at LogMeIn (NASDAQ: LOGM) and Unica, a public corporation acquired by IBM. As a sales and marketing executive, Meyers has executed four successful IPOs, growing companies from early stage to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and billion-dollar valuations.

“On top of having the growth metrics investors always look for in a startup, Zipwhip has a unique advantage over their competitors in that they essentially created their industry,” said Meyers. “Texting has become a business-critical communication tool, and Zipwhip is the proven industry leader and expert. I’m proud to bring my skills to the team and look forward to guiding the company to even more success.”

Meyers’ experience driving growth stretches from startups to public companies in a range of technology sectors, including software-as-a-service, cybersecurity, consumer technology, networking infrastructure and automation. In addition to serving on Zipwhip’s board, Meyers is a current board member for Emarsys, a global leader in AI-driven marketing automation. She is an investor and advisor to numerous other companies, helping her keep a pulse on innovation and digital transformation trends.

“We’re lucky to have an expert and dynamic set of board members, and Carol’s addition makes the team that much stronger,” said John Lauer, Zipwhip CEO. “Her experience scaling companies is exactly what Zipwhip needs right now as we continue on our path of steep, sustained growth.”

As a proven leader with varied experience, Meyers has unique abilities to navigate shifting competitive environments and business cycles, identify market opportunities and understand strategic inflection points that lead to change. She’s also known for her ability to recruit and develop top talent, build strong global brands and inspire positive corporate cultures.

Meyers joins Zipwhip’s other board directors and observers: Hillel Moerman, Goldman Sachs; Scott Maxwell, OpenView; Tamara Steffens, Microsoft M12; Bill McAleer, Voyager Capital; Geof Barker; John Stafford III, Ronin Capital.
