Transit Wireless Participates in NYC Summer Bridge Program

Company Partners with over 50 NYC-nonprofits for Summer Internship Program

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Transit Wireless, a leading 5G neutral host fiber infrastructure company, announced its participation in NYC Summer Bridge, the nation’s largest youth internship program. Summer Bridge connects a diverse group of students across all five NY City boroughs with internships at technology companies. In response to COVID-19, more than 50 nonprofits have come together to design a virtual Summer Bridge plan for 2020, which serves over 35,000 students.

“COVID-19 has impacted everyone across our region, especially school-aged children,” said Louise Butler, vice president of people at Transit Wireless. “We are excited to partner with nonprofits from across the NYC community to deliver an impactful virtual experience for students across all five boroughs. This experience provides interns with exposure to the tech industry, mentoring, and on-the-job training as they begin to explore and build their careers.”

Focused on rising high school juniors and seniors, 15-20 students will work with Transit Wireless on a specific company project over an intensive three-week period. The Summer Bridge program focus includes:

  • Career Exploration: Allows students to discover new career possibilities.
  • Skill-Building: Students will receive help with resumes, cover letters, and interview skills, as well as learn essential job readiness skills and workplace etiquette.
  • Connections to Professionals: The program will help students build their network through mentoring, career panels, social media workshops, and more.
  • Community Building: Students will learn valuable skills to become an active citizen at work and in their community.

The Summer Bridge begins the week of August 10, 2020 and ends August 28, 2020. For more information about the program, please click here.
