Hospitality Properties Trust Names John G. Murray as Managing Trustee

NEWTON, Mass.--()--Hospitality Properties Trust (Nasdaq: HPT) today announced that John G. Murray has been elected as a Managing Trustee of HPT effective April 12, 2018 to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Mr. Murray (age 57) has served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of HPT since 1996 and had previously served as Chief Financial Officer since HPT’s initial public offering in 1995. In addition, Mr. Murray is Executive Vice President of The RMR Group LLC. Prior to joining RMR in 1993, Mr. Murray worked at Fidelity Brokerage Services Inc. and Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Murray is also a member of Marriott International's Owner Advisory Council and the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Hotel Development Council.

Hospitality Properties Trust is a real estate investment trust, or REIT, which owns a diverse portfolio of hotels and travel centers located in 45 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
