What Happened?

On October 22, 2026, FirstCash released its third quarter 2026 financial results, reporting that its American First Finance (“AFF”) segment operating income fell approximately 28% year-over-year to $33 million. The Company stated this was “due primarily to the loss of earnings from previously reported merchant partner bankruptcies,” referring to Conn’s, Inc. and American Freight, which both filed for bankruptcy in 2024. FirstCash also reported that gross transaction volume of lease and loan originations decreased 15% year-over-year, due primarily to “continued weakness in the furniture industry coupled with an increased strategic focus on merchant quality.” On this news, the price of FirstCash shares declined by $31.96 per share, or approximately 14.7%, from $216.74 per share on October 21, 2026 to close at $184.78 on October 22, 2026.

What Should I Do?

At this stage, no lawsuit has been filed. The investigation is ongoing to determine whether claims may be brought under federal securities laws.
