City Brewing Announces 2.5 Million Barrel Volume Expansion to Fuel 2027 Growth

LA CROSSE, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--City Brewing & Beverage (“City Brewing” or the “Company”), one of the largest co-manufacturers of beer, flavored malt, ready-to-drink (RTD), and non-alcoholic beverages in the United States, today announced the Company has added 2.5 million barrels of production volume across its operations for 2027. This lift in volume is in line with the Company's current growth plans and has been developed in close collaboration with both existing and new customers.

"Our customers are moving fast, and the categories they compete in are evolving just as quickly," said Ross Sannes, Chief Executive Officer of City Brewing. “This is an exciting time in the beverage industry, and City Brewing is seizing the opportunity to build on our differentiated scale and capabilities to continue raising the bar for our customers while remaining the manufacturing partner of choice.”

Innovation in Packaging: PET Cans

To support exponential growth in the RTD spirits category, City Brewing has started utilizing new PET can technology. This innovative format looks and handles like a traditional can, while giving consumers a clear view of the liquid inside, providing the opportunity for brands to better highlight their product offerings.

Small-Format Cans for the Energy Category

City Brewing is also expanding its small-format can lineup to include 6.8, 7.5, and 8.4 oz sizes. The additions of these sizes provide enhanced flexibility for brands looking to support their energy drink consumers in new ways, while increasing options for consumers who want to manage their caffeine intake, aligning with the common 100mg caffeine benchmark.

Expanding Capabilities

Beyond packaging, City Brewing broadened its core capabilities across brew, ferment, and other formats, including growing business in non-traditional shapes. The Company is also expanding its information technology (IT) to streamline customer onboarding and improve efficiency in their go-to-market strategy.
