Quantum Lifecycle Partners' Albuquerque Facility Becomes First in New Mexico to Achieve R2v3 Certification

Milestone for the company formerly known as 2NDGEAR reinforces its commitment to responsible electronics reuse and recycling and secure data destruction across its North American footprint

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quantum Lifecycle Partners, formerly known as 2NDGEAR, announced today that its Technology Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico has been awarded R2v3 certification, becoming the first facility in the state of New Mexico to achieve this distinction.

The milestone comes shortly after 2NDGEAR officially began operating as Quantum Lifecycle Partners on September 1, 2026. The new name brings the company's U.S. operations under the same brand as Quantum's facilities in Canada and Costa Rica, creating a unified North American ITAD and electronics lifecycle partner. Customers can expect the same local team, the same Albuquerque facility, and the same service, now backed by the broader resources, certifications, and reach of Quantum Lifecycle Partners.

R2v3 (Responsible Recycling) is one of the most rigorous standards in the electronics recycling and IT asset disposition industry. Facilities must meet strict requirements for data security, environmental responsibility, employee health and safety, and downstream material tracking. Certification involves an in-depth, independent audit by an accredited third-party certifying body.

"Earning R2v3 certification for our Albuquerque facility is a significant milestone, both for our team and for the New Mexico community we operate in," says Gary Diamond, President, Quantum Lifecycle Partners. "Being the first R2v3-certified facility in the state reflects the standard we hold ourselves to every day: protecting our customers' data, protecting the environment, and protecting the people who do this work."

The Albuquerque facility plays a central role in Quantum Lifecycle Partners' device lifecycle operations. It supports certified data destruction, electronics recycling, and refurbishment for commercial, education, and enterprise customers and partners across the region. R2v3 certification gives customers independent, third-party assurance that equipment processed at the facility is handled to the highest standards for data security and environmental stewardship, from intake through final disposition.

Quantum Lifecycle Partners' commitment to responsible operations is further demonstrated through its Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher status and facility certifications to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety), and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security).

"This isn't just a certificate on the wall," added Gary Diamond. "It's a commitment we're making, publicly and formally, to our customers, our partners, and our community: that when equipment comes through our doors, it's handled the right way, every time."

Quantum Lifecycle Partners plans to continue expanding its certification footprint across its North American facilities as part of its ongoing investment in responsible, accountable technology lifecycle management.
