Taconic Biosciences and genOway Partner to Expand U.S. Access to Advanced Humanized Mouse Models

RENSSELAER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Taconic Biosciences, Inc., a global leader in genetically engineered rodent models (GEMs) and humanized immune system (HIS) mouse models, today announced a strategic distribution agreement with genOway, a company specializing in the design of predictive preclinical solutions. Through the partnership, Taconic will provide U.S. researchers with access to a curated portfolio of genOway’s target-specific genetically humanized mouse models.

As a trusted scientific partner to drug developers, Taconic works with researchers to identify fit-for-purpose models aligned with their therapeutic area, modality, translational requirements and stage of development. The collaboration with genOway builds on this expertise by adding new target-specific models to Taconic’s established portfolio and providing researchers with additional options for increasingly complex preclinical programs.

“Researchers rely on Taconic not only for access to high-quality animal models, but also for the scientific expertise to help identify the right model for the questions they need to answer,” said Mike Garrett, Chief Executive Officer of Taconic Biosciences. “Our partnership with genOway builds on that commitment, expanding the range of advanced humanized models we can offer U.S. researchers and helping drug developers make more informed model selections and generate data with greater translational relevance.”

The expanded portfolio will support research across therapeutic approaches including T-cell engagers and multispecifics, immune checkpoint and immunomodulatory therapies, Fc-mediated biologics, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), CAR-T therapies and other emerging modalities.

U.S. customers can work directly with Taconic to discuss model availability, cohort requirements, anticipated delivery timing, therapeutic mechanism and model fit, and study-specific scientific considerations. Taconic’s scientific team can also help researchers identify potentially relevant models based on the human target, therapeutic mechanism and experimental question.
