UserTesting Announces Rebranding as Auros, Providing the Human Network Behind AI

New corporate identity reflects the company’s expansion into AI training and evaluation, powered by 7.6 million verified people worldwide

UserTesting and User Interviews continue as product brands

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UserTesting, the leading provider of customer insights for the enterprise, today announced that its corporate brand will become Auros. For two decades, UserTesting has helped define what great software looks like through trusted feedback from real people. Auros carries that forward, applying this wealth of experience and a robust human network to a new challenge: training, evaluating, and improving AI. Auros brings together UserTesting, User Interviews, and a growing AI business as one company, powered by a network of 7.6 million verified people.

Given UserTesting’s long-standing market recognition in user experience research and design, UserTesting and User Interviews will continue as product brands under Auros. Both products will benefit from Auros’ broader investment in AI, verification infrastructure, and participant network, strengthening the research and insights customers already rely on, with no disruption to existing contracts or services.

“We spent twenty years building the infrastructure to find real people, verify who they are, and connect companies with their perspectives and expertise,” said Eric Johnson, CEO of Auros. “As AI becomes more capable, access to real people and verified human expertise becomes more valuable, not less. Auros gives us a corporate identity that reflects the company we’ve become and the significant opportunity ahead.”

Why Now

The shift is a response to a problem that is getting worse, not better. More than half of web traffic today is automated rather than human, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish authentic human activity from machine-generated behavior and data online. As AI systems become more capable, verified human input is becoming more important for training, evaluating, and improving how those systems perform. At the same time, the specialists whose expertise matters most for high-stakes AI work (e.g. clinicians, lawyers, regulatory and compliance experts, and financial advisors) have always been difficult to reach at scale.

“Anyone can source a thousand generalists by Friday. Almost nobody can find twelve doctors willing to review a medical answer and tell you exactly why it’s wrong. We can. That’s the business now,” said Johnson.

What Changes, and What Doesn’t

  • Auros becomes the corporate brand for the company and the go-to-market brand for its AI data, evaluation, and research services.
  • UserTesting and User Interviews continue as product brands under Auros, serving their existing UX research and participant-recruitment audiences without disruption.
  • Leadership, existing customer contracts, and day-to-day operations are unchanged.
  • The company’s participant network with over 7.6 million verified people across 34 core markets and more than 40 partner networks, remains the same underlying asset now sold under the new name.

“We didn’t change our name to be seen differently. We changed because we’ve already become something different,” said Johann Wrede, CMO of Auros. “For twenty years, we helped companies build better digital experiences by putting real people in front of them. The same human expertise that shaped a generation of software is exactly what’s needed to shape AI. We are the company of verified human expertise in user engagement. That’s true whether the question is about a product, a brand, or a machine.”

Independent by Design

Auros does not build the AI models or AI products it’s asked to evaluate. That independence is the point: whoever is grading the work should not be the one who built it. A model builder evaluating its own model, or a vendor testing its own AI tool, has an incentive to see it succeed. Auros has no stake in the outcome, so it has nothing riding on the answer except getting it right for the customer. That same discipline extends to how data is handled: every engagement is commissioned and consented to on its own terms, and customers make the determination about what happens with their data every time.

Availability

The Auros name and brand take effect Tuesday, September 29 during the AI Conference in San Francisco. More information is available at aurosglobal.com.
