AcuityMD Brings Prescription Data Into AcuityAI, Helping MedTech Reps Find New Patients Through Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)

AI-powered insights help commercial teams identify top-prescribing HCPs whose patients may be candidates for their devices

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AcuityMD, the AI platform for MedTech, today announced the availability of prescription data in AcuityAI, combining prescription and procedure data in a single workflow for commercial teams. Sales reps can use AcuityAI to find and prioritize healthcare professionals (HCPs) treating patients with prescription (branded and generic) therapies that align with their targets.

For many medical device (MedTech) companies, reviewing procedure data reveals only part of the picture. An HCP may be treating patients with medications associated with a device opportunity – without yet performing the corresponding procedure. Additionally, finding prescription insights is often challenging since they are scattered across different systems. By bringing these disparate data sources together in AcuityAI, reps can see an HCP’s prescribing patterns, leading to more informed conversations about their solution.

Teleflex’s Interventional Urology business unit has been using these insights to uncover patients who would benefit from its minimally invasive medical devices. “One of our biggest opportunities is identifying the physicians who prescribe the most benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) medications and demonstrating how our device, the UroLift System, offers an alternative treatment option for patients seeking symptom relief,” said Jim Brezicki, Manager of Sales Operations & Market Intelligence, Teleflex. “With this data, we can target the right physicians, prioritize opportunities, and drive more meaningful conversations.”

Echosens, which uses AcuityAI prescription data to track prescribing trends for its FibroScan-adjacent therapies, has seen a similar shift in how its team identifies opportunities. "Before AcuityMD, we had to look up prescription data provider by provider, which was incredibly time-consuming," said Amy Conner, Director of Market Access and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Echosens. "Now we can see every provider, compare prescription volumes alongside FibroScan utilization, and quickly identify practices that are scanning but not treating, or treating without using FibroScan. Having all of that data in one place, with AI to help us analyze it, has completely changed how we identify opportunities."

“We incorporated prescription data into AcuityAI in response to customers’ frustrations with existing prescription data solutions and the inability to reliably find the HCPs treating device-eligible patients,” said Brian Collins, Chief Product Officer, AcuityMD. “With AcuityAI, reps can simply ask the questions they need answered and use prescription insights alongside procedures and diagnoses to find and prioritize the right HCPs. It brings another important signal into the hands of the people closest to the customer.”

AcuityMD will be demonstrating AI-powered innovations at Flywheel 2026 in Philadelphia, PA (Oct 13-14) or visit acuitymd.com/flywheel.
