The milestone was driven by new users continuing to embrace and support MapQuest’s decision to keep familiar historical geographic names for lakes and gulfs on its mapping platform. This unprecedented surge in downloads carried MapQuest to the No. 1 overall free app position in the Apple App Store and the No. 1 overall free app position in the Google Play Store.

MapQuest remains available for free on iOS and Android.
