COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Experian today announced the launch of the Experian Credit Cards app on ChatGPT, expanding its growing portfolio of AI-powered financial experiences and giving consumers a new way to discover and compare credit card options through a simple conversation.
"Consumers expect financial experiences to be as intuitive as the technology they use every day," said Debbie Hsu, Executive Vice President of Product, Experian Consumer Services. "By bringing our credit card marketplace into ChatGPT, we're making it easier for people to explore their options, compare cards with confidence and take the next step when the time is right. This is another example of how Experian is using AI to create simpler, more helpful financial experiences."
Consumers are increasingly turning to AI to answer financial questions before making important decisions. Whether they are looking for a cash back card, travel rewards, a low introductory APR or no annual fee, the research process often begins with a question. Until recently, finding the right answer typically meant sorting through search results, opening multiple browser tabs and comparing offers across multiple issuers’ websites. Consumer AI chat apps have enabled users to consolidate their search, and with Experian now managing offer detail display within ChatGPT, consumers can access accurate, consistent, and issuer-aligned offer information.
Bringing Credit Card Shopping Into the Conversation
Consumers want to understand which products fit their goals, whether they are building credit, earning travel rewards, reducing interest costs or maximizing everyday purchases.
The Experian Credit Cards app on ChatGPT helps simplify that decision. With only minimal input, consumers can review relevant offers from Experian's trusted partner network and compare the details that matter most, including annual fees, introductory bonuses, rewards rates, introductory APR offers and ongoing APR ranges, where available.
Each offer is presented with clear, consistent information, making it easier to evaluate options before continuing to Experian for offers matching their Experian credit profile. The experience in ChatGPT gives consumers an informed starting point and a faster path to finding a card that meets their needs.
"Our goal is to help consumers find credit card products that align with their financial goals and make those products easy to choose, get and use,” said Michael Coleman, Chief Marketing Officer at Credit One Bank. "Experian's Credit Cards app on ChatGPT creates a new way for consumers to discover and compare card options through a trusted, conversational experience. We're excited to be part of an innovation that helps consumers make more informed decisions before they apply.”
How It Works
Consumers who choose to take the next step can view offers matched to their Experian credit profile. Those who elect to receive offers are securely directed to the Experian website, where they can review eligible credit card offers. Experian members can also view any pre-approved offersii they are qualified for, and cards labeled No Ding Decline™iii, which won't affect a consumer's credit scoresiv, if they are not initially approved.
Advancing Experian's Consumer AI Strategy
The Experian Credit Cards app marks another step in Experian's strategy to bring trusted financial marketplaces into the AI platforms consumers are already using. From loans to insurance and now credit cards, Experian is building conversational experiences that help consumers move from asking financial questions to evaluating real financial products with greater confidence. By combining trusted marketplaces with AI, Experian is creating a simpler way for consumers to discover opportunities while maintaining transparency and consumer choice throughout the process.
Future enhancements are planned to include more personalized credit card experiences and expanded lender participation, continuing Experian's investment in AI-powered financial services that help consumers make informed financial decisions.
