SCE Continues Commitment to Eaton Fire Recovery and Community Engagement with Sept. 10 Meeting

Hear from participants and ask questions about the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program before the Nov. 30 deadline.

ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern California Edison today announced the next community meeting as part of its ongoing commitment to help those directly impacted by the Eaton Fire explore their recovery options. The meeting will take place Sept. 10 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, bringing together company leaders and program participants to answer questions about the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program and provide information to help attendees make informed decisions about their path forward.

The event will include a panel discussion featuring program participants who received compensation and can speak to their experiences with the program. SCE experts will also be available to answer specific questions and help address individual rebuilding and recovery needs.

“One of the most effective ways to understand the program is to hear directly from people who have gone through it,” said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, SCE’s parent company. “These conversations give community members an opportunity to ask questions, learn from others’ experiences and connect to resources that support their recovery.”

As of Aug. 28, 2026:

• More than 4,450 claims submitted, consisting of over 13,600 individuals, trusts and legal entities, with 39% submitted by attorneys or authorized representatives.
• More than 2,500 offers extended to nearly 6,300 claimants, totaling more than $860 million.
• More than 3,100 claimants paid, totaling over $460 million, with many more in process.

Through the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program, SCE is delivering offers in 36 days, on average, which is well within the 90-day commitment following submission of a substantially complete claim. Filing a claim does not waive a claimant's rights. Receiving and evaluating an offer does not waive rights either.

• Over 77% of offers have been accepted, with more pending.
• Less than 2% of offers have been declined.

Payments are made within 30 days after all conditions in the settlement agreement are satisfied, with many claimants receiving payment in as little as two to three weeks. Payments have ranged from $15.1 million for a claimant with multiple properties to $15,000 for a tenant with non-burn damage. Survey feedback from over 150 participants shows strong program satisfaction, with 82% reporting a favorable opinion of the program.

Three months remain to submit a claim. Eligible community members who have not yet participated are encouraged to submit a claim by Nov. 30, 2026, so they can fully explore the compensation options available to them before making decisions about their path forward.
