Element Science Expands Executive Leadership Team to Accelerate Commercial Growth and Execution

Key leadership hires bring deep medtech scaling expertise to advance the Jewel Patch Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Element Science, a pioneering health technology company and creator of the Jewel® Patch Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (Patch-WCD) to monitor and protect patients at high-risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), today announced several strategic appointments to its executive leadership team. These key hires bring extensive industry experience across commercial strategy, operations, finance, and human resources to drive the company's next phase of growth.

Executive Appointments

  • Paul Mandina, Chief Revenue Officer
    Paul brings more than 20 years of medtech commercial leadership experience. Most recently, he served as VP of U.S. Sales at Medtronic, where he led a $500 million portfolio to double-digit growth. Having previously built and scaled teams at Nevro, St. Jude Medical, and Intuitive Surgical, Mandina will shape Element Science's commercial strategy and build capabilities for market expansion.
  • Mark Hughes, Chief Operating Officer
    Mark joins Element Science from iRhythm, where he spearheaded operations through major commercial scaling. He brings deep manufacturing and supply chain expertise essential to guiding Element Science into early U.S. commercialization.
  • Eric Samuels, Chief Financial Officer
    Eric assumes the CFO role with extensive financial and operational experience from previous leadership roles at iRhythm and Intel. He will oversee the expansion of Element Science's financial and operational foundation to support long-term corporate growth.
  • Cheeka Trikha, Head of People and Organization
    Cheeka joins from Cognite, where she led People Business Partnering, following senior HR leadership roles at SAP, iRhythm, Confluent and Cognite. She brings a strong blend of medtech experience and organizational scaling expertise as Element Science continues to grow its talent base.
