Integrated Surgical Center of Arizona (ISCA) Joins Regent Surgical; Expanding Cardiac Capabilities

Multispecialty center led by IMS Care, AZ Heart Arrhythmia Associates, and Valley GI Consultants to serve Phoenix metro area

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regent Surgical (Regent), a leading developer and operator of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), today announced that Integrated Surgical Center of Arizona (ISCA), a multispecialty center in Avondale, Arizona, has joined its network.

ISCA is led by three respected Arizona physician organizations: IMS Care, Arizona's largest independent multispecialty physician group; AZ Heart Arrhythmia Associates, a cardiac electrophysiology specialist group; and Valley GI Consultants, a leading gastroenterology practice. Together with Regent's operational and development expertise, the center will expand access to advanced outpatient cardiovascular and specialty surgical care across the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

The partnership marks a significant milestone in Regent's growth strategy and reflects the broader opportunity in the cardiac ASC market. As cardiovascular care continues to shift to the ambulatory setting, recent CMS policy changes have expanded the list of procedures eligible for performance in ASCs, including cardiac catheter ablation. These policy shifts reflect growing clinical confidence in the safety and effectiveness of delivering these procedures in lower-cost outpatient settings.

“ISCA represents the type of physician-led platform we believe can meaningfully expand access to outpatient specialty care,” said Travis Messina, CEO at Regent. “With an established multispecialty foundation and significant opportunity in cardiovascular care, we see tremendous potential to build on what these physicians have created and expand the center’s impact across the Phoenix market.”

Physician leaders at ISCA see the partnership as an opportunity to advance cardiovascular care delivery in the region.

"The shift of appropriate cardiovascular procedures into the ambulatory setting represents an important evolution in how we deliver care," said Riyaz Sumar, M.D., Cardiology at IMS Care. "For the right patients, ASCs can provide a high-quality, efficient care experience while maintaining the rigorous safety and clinical standards expected in cardiovascular medicine. By combining our clinical expertise with Regent's ASC capabilities and operational scale, we are expanding access to advanced cardiac care and creating more opportunities for patients to receive the care they need in a convenient, cost-effective setting closer to home."
