Co-Founder Dr. Brian Barritt Appointed CEO of Aalyria to Drive Innovation and Accelerate Growth

LIVERMORE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aalyria Technologies today announced that Dr. Brian Barritt, the company's co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Chris Taylor. The appointment follows a planned leadership transition, as Aalyria shifts its focus toward driving product innovation and commercial growth. Taylor has led Aalyria since its founding, guiding the company through its Series B fundraise and establishing it as a pioneer in advanced connectivity technology. Taylor and former Chief Strategy Officer Donald "Chip" Ashworth Cox, III are departing the company to pursue their other endeavors.

Barritt brings a rare combination of technical vision and commercial instinct to the role. As co-founder and CTO, he defined the product strategy behind Spacetime and Tightbeam, driving both from concept to deployed, mission-critical technology. He now turns that same vision toward bringing Aalyria's innovation to market at scale.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Chris for everything he has built at Aalyria. As we look ahead, Brian combines deep technical creativity with the commercial instincts and customer relationships to accelerate what we've built. The Board has tremendous confidence in his ability to lead Aalyria into its next phase," said Arthur Patterson, Founder of Accel and Aalyria seed investor.

Barritt co-founded Aalyria in 2022 and has served as Chief Technology Officer since the company's inception. Prior to Aalyria, he led the development of key networking technologies at Google, including foundational work that evolved into the company's Spacetime platform. He previously held leadership roles at Meta, Cisco, and NASA's Space Communications and Navigation program.

“Aalyria was built on a simple conviction: that every network across land, sea, air, and space should operate as one. We've proven that in the field, turning Spacetime and Tightbeam from bold ideas into mission-critical capabilities our customers depend on,” said Dr. Brian Barritt, co-founder and CEO of Aalyria. “My focus is on driving the innovation and commercial acceleration that the next chapter demands. I'm honored to lead this team forward.”

Aalyria enters this next chapter with a growing portfolio of government and commercial engagements, a clear product roadmap, and the leadership to execute on its long-term growth ambitions.
