Air Combat Command and Hypori Launch First Secure Messaging Implementation to Modernize Air Force Mobile Communications
Air Combat Command begins implementation of Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging, delivering secure, encrypted, privacy-preserving communication for Airmen with zero data exposure on devices
RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hypori, the leading secure mobile access and virtual mobile infrastructure (VMI) platform, today announced that Air Combat Command (ACC) has begun implementation of Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging, marking the first deployment of Hypori’s secure messaging capability to support modern, device-agnostic communication for Airmen.
“With Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging, we’re empowering secure, compliant communication that safeguards mission data, provides Continuity of Government capabilities, and protects absolute user privacy, all while simplifying how Airmen stay connected."

Following the success of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Workspace Anywhere deployment, ACC is partnering with Hypori to deploy Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging as a secure, encrypted communications solution that protects Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), complies with all U.S. Law and Federal Policy on handling and protecting CUI, while preserving user privacy. The implementation supports approximately 10,000 ACC users, with secure messaging enabled across existing DAF Hypori users for a total of approximately 27,000 users.
As mission operations become increasingly mobile, ACC identified the need for a modern messaging capability that reduces device burden, supports operational readiness, and maintains strict compliance with Air Force cybersecurity requirements. Traditional approaches often required government-issued devices, multiple applications, or restrictive controls that limited flexibility and slowed communication. Hypori Lyte addresses these challenges by delivering secure messaging without placing sensitive mission data on personal or government-issued devices.
“ACC’s leadership in evaluating next-generation mobile capabilities is driving real change across the Department of the Air Force (DAF),” said Jared Shepard, CEO of Hypori. “With Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging, we’re empowering secure, compliant communication that safeguards mission data, provides Continuity of Government (COG) capabilities, and protects absolute user privacy, all while simplifying how Airmen stay connected.”
Modernizing Secure Communications for Airmen
Hypori Lyte for Secure Messaging enables encrypted, controlled communication while keeping all data off the endpoint device. By eliminating local data exposure, the solution helps ACC protect mission communications, maintain compliance with Department of War (DoW) requirements, and respect Airmen’s personal privacy.
The implementation will allow ACC to assess how privacy-preserving mobile messaging can strengthen mission readiness, improve accessibility, and support secure communication workflows across diverse operational environments. Success will be measured by user adoption, reduced device burden, improved flexibility, and the ability to maintain strict security and data protection standards.
"Our Wing Commanders and Airmen need modern communication tools to operate at today’s speed,” said Brigadier General Jeffrey Phillips, Director of ACC’s Directorate of Cyberspace & Warfighting Communications (ACC/A6). “Secure messaging platforms directly strengthen mission readiness by enabling our forces to collaborate confidently and securely on the move, without being tied to a specific device, ensuring we remain ready to respond at any moment.”
Advancing Secure, Privacy-Preserving Mobility
This implementation supports ACC’s broader mobile modernization efforts by demonstrating how secure messaging can be delivered without relying on device-centric security models. Hypori’s zero-data architecture prevents sensitive information from transmission or storage on the endpoint entirely, reducing risk while simplifying the user experience.
The implementation also establishes Hypori as a high-credibility reference for secure messaging within the DAF and among mission partners seeking compliant, scalable, and privacy-preserving mobile communication solutions.
