Donaldson, Garrett & Associates Has Joined SAM

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Surveying And Mapping, LLC (“SAM” or the “Company”) today announced that it has acquired Donaldson, Garrett & Associates, Inc. (“DG&A”), a Georgia-based land surveying firm serving commercial, utilities, and local government clients.

DG&A brings an experienced team of land surveying professionals, established operations in Georgia and North Carolina, and a strong base of long-standing client relationships across the Southeast region. The acquisition expands SAM’s labor resources and client reach in Georgia while strengthening the Company’s ability to support growing infrastructure and development activity across the region.

The acquisition is especially strategic for SAM’s utilities team. DG&A adds experienced, utility-focused survey resources in Georgia, increasing SAM’s execution capacity in a market with expanding utility infrastructure demand. With DG&A’s local knowledge, field capabilities, and established reputation, SAM is better positioned to pursue and deliver utility-related work in the state.

In addition to expanding resource capacity, the combination creates opportunities to deepen client relationships and broaden service offerings. DG&A has maintained long-tenured relationships with clients, creating opportunities for SAM to offer a broader suite of geospatial and infrastructure solutions to those organizations.

DG&A’s proximity and history with SAM’s existing Georgia operations support efficient coordination, resource sharing, and alignment, helping create a smooth integration while preserving continuity for employees and clients. SAM believes this strategic fit will support long-term operational effectiveness and strengthen its ability to serve clients throughout the region.

“DG&A brings exactly the kind of local strength, technical experience, and client partnership that aligns with SAM’s strategic growth priorities,” said Chris Solomon, RPLS, President and CEO of SAM. “This acquisition expands our surveying capacity in Georgia and North Carolina, strengthens our position in the utilities market, and creates new opportunities to deliver broader solutions to clients through SAM’s platform.”

“This partnership creates exciting opportunities for our employees and our clients,” said Jim Garrett, RPLS, President of DG&A. “SAM’s scale, technical resources, employee culture and expanded service capabilities make them a strong fit for our business and the relationships we’ve built over many years.”

SAM continues to pursue a disciplined strategic growth strategy, both organically and through acquisition, focused on expanding technical capabilities, strengthening client solutions, and growing its national footprint.
