The Cyber AB Appoints Mathew Newfield as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cyber AB, the official accreditation body for the Department of War’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mathew Newfield as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

In this critical leadership role, Newfield will oversee the organization’s daily business operations, strategic scaling, and customer success, while also driving growth throughout the CMMC and Secure Controls Framework (SCF) ecosystems. He is known for his proven track record at major technology firms, where he specialized in operational excellence and large-scale digital transformation.

Mr. Newfield had previously served as a member of The Cyber AB’s voluntary Board of Directors since 2021, including a term as Vice Chair. With a professional career anchored in cybersecurity, he comes to this role after four years at One Diversified, LLC, a global leader in video and audio innovation, where he served in various executive positions including President of Diversified Media and Entertainment, Chief Commercial Officer, and Chief Technology Officer. His joining the professional staff of The Cyber AB comes at a critical time as the CMMC Program continues through its first official year of implementation.

Prior to his tenure at Diversified, Mr. Newfield was the Chief Security and Infrastructure Officer (CSIO) of the Unisys Corporation. Previously, he had served in senior positions at IBM, including Director of Global Managed Security Services and Global Process Officer for the company’s Security Services Organization. Mr. Newfield has also held security leadership roles at RSA and the former CyberTrust.
