Godspeed-Backed Engineering Resource Group Acquires Haltom Engineering

Extends geographic reach and scale of ERG, reinforcing its reputation as a leading MEP engineering, consulting, and design services firm across the Southern United States

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Engineering Resource Group, Inc. (“ERG”), a Godspeed Capital Management LP (“Godspeed”)-backed engineering, consulting, and design firm providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (“MEP”) services, today announced the acquisition of Haltom Engineering, LLC (“Haltom” or the “Company”), a Memphis-based MEP engineering consulting firm specializing in mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design with deep expertise in high-performance and net-zero building systems. The acquisition of Haltom is ERG’s first add-on acquisition and further strengthens ERG’s position as a regional leader in MEP engineering, consulting, and design services across the Southern United States.

Founded in 2005, Haltom has built a strong reputation over two decades for delivering technically demanding projects across Tennessee and the broader Mid-South. Haltom’s highly experienced and credentialed team of engineers and designers serves a diverse, recurring customer base spanning higher education, healthcare, cultural and civic institutions, and leading commercial clients. Haltom is also a recognized leader in net-zero and energy-efficient design, developing solutions that materially reduce or eliminate outside energy demand for complex facilities. With the addition of Haltom, ERG expands its technical depth and capacity to support clients across education, government and defense, energy, healthcare, industrial, and commercial end markets.

“We’re excited to partner with the team at Haltom Engineering, who shares our long-term vision for ERG and our mission to deliver best-in-class MEP solutions,” said Chad Moore, CEO of ERG. “Haltom has earned a strong reputation as a provider of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design in Tennessee and surrounding markets. We’re pleased to bring their expertise to ERG as we continue expanding our capabilities for clients across the Southern U.S.”

“ERG is the ideal partner for our next phase of growth,” said Jeff Haltom, founder of Haltom Engineering. “This combination allows us to continue delivering the specialized services our clients rely on, while gaining access to additional resources and support. We look forward to working with the ERG team to build on our position as a differentiated provider of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design services, now with greater scale.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Haltom Engineering to the ERG platform,” added James Reid, Principal at Godspeed Capital. “This acquisition expands ERG’s footprint across the Southern U.S. and strengthens our ability to support clients in mission-critical environments, including government, healthcare, and education. We look forward to partnering with Jeff and his talented team as we continue building ERG into a leading MEP engineering, consulting, and design platform.”

Meritage Partners, Inc. served as exclusive financial advisor to Haltom. Murtaugh Law LLP served as Haltom’s legal advisor. Moore & Van Allen PLLC served as legal advisor to Godspeed.
