O’Connor joins Neon One with more than two decades of experience in finance leadership across SaaS and growth-stage technology companies. Most recently, he served as CFO at Tripleseat and held senior leadership roles at Building Engines, Buildium, and AppNeta, where he specialized in optimizing recurring-revenue models to drive rapid expansion.
He succeeds Paul Tennola, who will remain with Neon One through July to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Tennola joined the company five years ago and was a primary architect of the current business structure, overseeing the integration of several strategic acquisitions and establishing the financial infrastructure that serves as the company’s current foundation for growth.
“Paul has been a vital leader during our formative years, building the infrastructure that allows us to move forward with confidence,” said Keith Reed, CEO of Neon One. “As we look toward our next chapter, David brings the expertise required to fuel our momentum. He has navigated this exact phase of growth before and understands how to align financial strategy with aggressive operational scaling.”
Scale, consistency, and operational visibility are becoming increasingly important as nonprofits look for more reliable ways to expand and strengthen relationships with supporters. The company has spent the past several years building a unified platform across donor management, fundraising, and engagement.
“Neon One has built something truly meaningful in the nonprofit technology space,” said O’Connor. “The opportunity now is to leverage that foundation to drive long-term growth and innovation. I’m eager to work with the team to build the high-velocity financial operations necessary to support our expansion and maximize our impact on the social sector.”
By streamlining the financial drivers behind Neon One’s fundraising, events, and engagement tools, the company is positioned to help nonprofits manage every relationship—from donors to advocates—more efficiently than ever. As Neon One continues to scale, this infusion of experienced leadership ensures the company's internal operations are as dynamic and growth-oriented as the organizations they serve.
