This signature community event brings together thousands of donor families, transplant recipients, living donors, and community partners for a powerful day of remembrance, hope, and action during National Donate Life Month. Proceeds support the OneLegacy Foundation’s public education efforts, helping inspire more people to say “yes” to organ, eye, and tissue donation.
More than a run or walk, the event offers a meaningful, shared experience for the community. Along the route, participants will encounter memorial yard signs honoring donors. Each memorial sign represents a life remembered, each step a tribute. At the heart of the event, the Circle of Life Garden provides a dedicated space for reflection, where families can gather, remember loved ones, and celebrate the lasting impact of donation.
The event begins with a special opening ceremony, hosted by ABC 7 news anchor and living donor, Phillip Palmer alongside local elected officials and OneLegacy leadership. The program will feature musical and fitness performances with DJ Damage setting the tone for a day that balances celebration with remembrance.
Following the ceremony, participants will take part in the Run/Walk before enjoying a lively Family Festival featuring health screenings, food trucks, raffles, and activities for all ages.
A VERY SPECIAL CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR DONOR FAMILIES, RECIPIENTS AND DONATION ADVOCATES
Nearly two thousand donor family members and their loved ones will participate this year, joining hospitals, organ, eye and tissue recipients, health and fitness enthusiasts and corporate and community groups in a shared mission to honor the gift of life and inspire donation.
Among them is Team Forever 22, participating for the 11th year in honor of Adrián Jiménez, a 22-year-old college student whose legacy lives on through donation.
“Every year we gather at the Run/Walk to honor Adrian’s memory, and we look forward to walking together as a community,” said Maria Jimenez, Adrian’s mother and OneLegacy Ambassador. “This event reminds us that his life continues to make a difference.” More than 60 participants will join Maria and her family to walk together as a team on April 25th.
Events like the OneLegacy Run/Walk play a vital role in building awareness and trust within the community by encouraging conversations, breaking down misconceptions, and ultimately helping save more lives.
