Quectel to Showcase TELEC-Certified EG800AK-JP Alongside IoT Solutions Portfolio at Japan IT Week Spring 2026

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global end-to-end IoT solutions provider, will participate in Japan IT Week, Japan’s largest IT and digital transformation exhibition, taking place on April 8–10, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan. At the event, Quectel will be showcasing the EG800AK-JP, Quectel’s LTE Cat 1 bis module designed for IoT applications in Japan, which has recently received TELEC certification. The certification confirms that the module complies with Japan’s radio regulatory requirements, enabling device manufacturers to integrate the module into their products with confidence while reducing the complexity of local certification processes.

The EG800AK-JP brings LTE Cat 1 bis technology to the Japanese market, leveraging a globally proven and widely deployed connectivity solution. As LTE Cat 1 bis continues to gain momentum worldwide, Quectel introduces a fine-tuned and field-proven module tailored to Japan’s specific requirements.

With TELEC certification now in place, the EG800AK-JP is positioned for immediate commercial deployment in Japan, enabling device manufacturers to accelerate product development while reducing regulatory complexity. Optimized for Japan’s LTE bands, the EG800AK-JP delivers reliable nationwide coverage and is well-suited for a wide range of IoT applications. As the IoT landscape evolves beyond Cat M, NB-IoT, and traditional Cat 1, LTE Cat 1 bis is rapidly emerging as a new mainstream connectivity standard.

“Achieving TELEC certification for the EG800AK-JP reflects Quectel’s commitment to supporting the Japanese IoT ecosystem with solutions that meet local regulatory requirements,” said Yasu Okada, Senior Sales Director APAC, Quectel Wireless Solutions. “With this approval, device manufacturers in Japan can integrate the module with confidence, simplifying development and accelerating time-to-market for LTE-enabled IoT devices.”

In addition, Quectel will showcase its portfolio of cellular, GNSS, and short-range communication modules, along with antenna solutions and development tools that simplify IoT device design. The booth will feature product demonstrations and application showcases highlighting how Quectel technologies support industries such as industrial IoT, asset tracking, smart infrastructure, and mobility applications.

Also showcased at the event will be the QLM29H series of dual-band, multi-constellation GNSS receivers, designed to provide high-precision positioning with streamlined integration. The solution supports dual-band L1 and L5 GNSS reception, real-time kinematic (RTK) technology for centimeter-level accuracy, and optional dead reckoning to maintain reliable positioning in challenging environments such as urban canyons and tunnels. Featuring a plug-and-play RS-232/USB interface and multi-GNSS compatibility, including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS and QZSS, the QLM29H series enables developers to seamlessly integrate advanced positioning capabilities while accelerating time-to-market.

Visitors to Booth W24-22, West Hall 4 at Tokyo Big Sight will have the opportunity to explore Quectel’s latest IoT solutions, interact with technical experts, and learn how the company’s end-to-end capabilities, from modules and antennas to connectivity and services, can help accelerate IoT innovation and shorten product development cycles.
