Inszone Insurance Services Acquires Onstad's Insurance Agency, Preserving a Century of History in the Bay Area

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Inszone Insurance Services, a rapidly growing national provider of commercial, personal, and benefits insurance, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Onstad's Insurance Agency, located in San Ramon, California. This acquisition brings nearly a century of Bay Area history into the Inszone fold, marking a significant commitment to preserving the legacy of one of the region's oldest independent agencies.

The agency’s roots trace back to 1926, when Merrill E. Onstad, Sr. founded the company in San Leandro, selling life insurance policies from his home. Following World War II, his sons, Merrill Onstad, Jr. and Daniel G. Onstad, joined the firm in 1947, shifting the focus to Homeowners and Automobile insurance to meet the demands of the post-war housing boom. The agency moved to Hayward in 1961 to capitalize on new housing developments. In 1986, the firm consolidated its operations in San Ramon, bringing together a team that included the third generation of Onstads, Daniel N. Onstad and Bradley L. Onstad, alongside key partners like John Oldemeyer and Russell Vrankovich.

Today, the agency is led by the fourth generation of leadership: Nicholas Vrankovich, Darla Evers, and Gregory Onstad—the great-grandson of the founder.
