Amica Celebrates 2025 Philanthropic Impact; Highlights Nearly $6.5M in Support for Mission-Driven Nonprofits

LINCOLN, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amica, through its charitable arm, the Amica Companies Foundation, reinforced its long-standing commitment to strengthening the communities it serves by contributing nearly $6.5 million in charitable grants and sponsorships in 2025.

Throughout the year, Amica provided over $4,650,000 in grants and over $1,800,000 in nonprofit sponsorships, supporting dozens of mission-driven organizations operating across the country. Amica’s philanthropic efforts were focused on education, health, arts and culture, community development, and public affairs.

One such example is Amica and the Boston Celtics growing their partnership by facilitating an investment in a new early childhood education center in Providence, Rhode Island. Announced at an August groundbreaking event attended by community leaders and Celtics representatives, the project will add dedicated early learning space to the Manton Heights Community Center in South Providence. Funded by the Amica Companies Foundation and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, the new center will feature one preschool classroom and two toddler rooms designed to support children between the ages of 18 months to five years old, serving up to 42 young learners in a safe, developmentally supportive environment.

For Amica and the Celtics, expanding access to high-quality early education is a shared priority – and the Manton Heights center represents the first phase of a broader, regional effort to reduce accessibility gaps. As the Providence Housing Authority prepares to open the center in late 2026, both the Amica Companies Foundation and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation will continue working together to support families and strengthen community resources, including offering future grant opportunities for early education providers across the region.

Employee participation remained a cornerstone of Amica’s community impact efforts, with more than half of Amica employees participating in the company’s giving or volunteer programs. Amica encourages and supports employees to take an active role in giving back by providing paid time off each year to volunteer in their communities and by matching eligible employee contributions at 200%. Employee-directed giving totaled over $2.5 million in 2025.

“At Amica, we know our business is only as strong as the communities in which we live and work,” said Amica President and CEO Ted Shallcross. “Community giving is a core value woven into our culture, and we are proud that it has been truly embraced by our employees at every level of our organization.”
