Render Raises $100 Million Series C Extension at $1.5 Billion Valuation to Build the Cloud for AI-Native Software

Led by Georgian, with participation from Addition, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and 01A, the extension brings total funding to $258 million.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Render, the leading cloud for application developers, has raised $100 million in an extension of its Series C, valuing the company at $1.5 billion and bringing its total funding to $258 million. The funding was led by Georgian, who also led the Series C, with significant participation from all major existing investors, including Addition, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and 01 Advisors.

With 4.5 million+ developers now on the platform and more than 250,000 joining every month, Render is one of the fastest-growing clouds in the world. In particular, Render has become a platform of choice for companies deploying AI products, whose need for stateful, long-running infrastructure aligns naturally with Render's architecture. Render will use the new capital to expand its support for AI use cases, building a unified AI application runtime that gives developers every cloud primitive they need to bring AI apps and agents to production on a single platform.

Render's hypergrowth is driven by a fundamental shift in how software gets built. AI-assisted coding has made it faster than ever to create new applications, but hosting them on hyperscalers like AWS remains complex and error-prone, often taking weeks, even for companies with large platform engineering teams. Render's mature suite of intuitive cloud services has become a leading alternative to hyperscalers for developers who need fast, flexible, and scalable deployment of full-stack applications.

"We are going through a generational shift in how developers pick cloud providers,” says Anurag Goel, founder and CEO of Render. “Hyperscalers are no longer the default for teams that want to move fast. AI-assisted coding means developers can build faster than ever, and they need a cloud that can keep up. That's what Render delivers."

Infrastructure for the AI Era

Nowhere is this shift more pronounced than among companies building AI-native products. Thousands of leading AI companies, including Base44, Cognition, Luminai, Paradigm, and Fundamental Research Labs, build on Render because its architecture gives them a meaningful advantage.

Unlike serverless, frontend-focused platforms, Render supports WebSockets, containerized workloads, and infinite runtime for backend applications, all critical for real-time LLM-based applications and AI agents that often need to run for hours or days. Its flexible support for stateful and distributed architectures has made Render the home for a rapidly growing wave of AI-native software.

Maor Shlomo, the founder of Base44 (acquired by Wix), said, "We've been able to deliver AI features much faster with a very lean engineering team, and Render's flexibility and reliability have scaled to meet our rapidly evolving needs. After using their platform over the last year, I'm convinced Render is the future of the cloud. Their latest round gave me a chance to invest in their trajectory, and the opportunity was too good to pass up."

Companies like Base44 are building faster than any sector in history. They need infrastructure that is innovative, flexible, and reliable, but also intuitive enough to let engineering teams stay focused on their product, not their platform. That's the gap Render is building to fill: a unified AI application runtime that combines compute, durable execution, high-speed storage, LLM orchestration, and end-to-end observability into an integrated platform. By simplifying AI development and deployment, the company plans to usher in a Cambrian explosion of AI apps and agents in the coming months and years.

New Primitives for AI Agents

To accelerate this momentum, Render has launched Render Workflows in early access, a durable execution and compute engine for orchestrating complex AI application logic. The company also plans to launch object storage, code execution sandboxes, shared filesystems, and a consolidated AI gateway in the coming months. Together, these capabilities will give AI-native teams the integrated tooling and observability they need to bring products and agents to market faster and more cost-effectively.

Emily Walsh, Lead Investor at Georgian, said, "We believe Render is becoming the essential infrastructure layer for the next generation of AI-native applications. Generative AI has made it faster than ever to write code, but turning AI-first and agentic systems into reliable, production-ready software remains a major challenge. Render provides the reliability, scalability, and operational primitives developers need to build and operate these systems at the speed of AI. We're excited to deepen our partnership with Anurag and the team as they continue to define this category."
