Operation HOPE Earns 12th Consecutive Four-Star Rating From Charity Navigator

Operation HOPE Again Ranks Among Highest-Performing Organizations for Financial Health, Accountability and Impact

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Operation HOPE, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping low- and moderate-income Americans thrive in an ever-changing economy, today announced that it has earned its 12th consecutive Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most trusted independent charity evaluator.

Charity Navigator’s Four-Star Rating - the highest distinction possible – places Operation HOPE in the top 7% of more than 230,000 organizations evaluated each year. The rating reflects the strong financial health, ongoing effectiveness and reliability of Operation HOPE as an organization.

“This Four-Star recognition by Charity Navigator speaks to the trust placed in Operation HOPE by our supporters, partners as well as the clients and communities we serve,” said John Hope Bryant, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Operation HOPE. “For more than three decades, we’ve believed that financial dignity is a civil right, and this rating reinforces that our work is mission-driven and also transparent, effective, and disciplined.”

Operation HOPE empowers individuals, families and small businesses through programs such as HOPE Inside, which provides free financial coaching, credit counseling, and small business development support. In 2025 alone, Operation HOPE:

  • Served nearly 74,000 individuals in their financial wellness journey.
  • Helped clients improve their credit scores by an average of 39 points and improve savings by an average of $1,000.
  • Assisted clients in decreasing their revolving debt by $1,993.

“Our team at Operation HOPE is deeply focused on delivering results with integrity and accountability, and this Four-Star rating reflects strong governance, responsible financial management, and a culture that prioritizes measurable outcomes,” said Brian Betts, President and Chief Financial Officer of Operation HOPE.

Since 2002, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations its Four-Star Rating. Charity Navigator analyzes overall nonprofit health and performance based on four key areas: Leadership & Adaptability to help donors understand if a charity has clarity of purpose, Accountability & Finance to explain if they are transparent and fiscally capable, Culture & Community to show how they engage with their constituents, and Impact & Results to explain what they have accomplished.

“We are delighted to provide Operation HOPE with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work that Operation HOPE is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”
